Groucho
This blog is about Groucho, our fearless, bewhiskered, blessed with a wonderful sense of humour, who, thanks to the wonderful Westie Rescue (www.westierescue.ie) we were able to adopt and he is now our much loved Four Legged Family Member. We hope you enjoy reading about his adventures and his Westie view on life!
Sometimes, it's good to stop and enjoy the sand and sun and the sound of the water. Sometimes, in all my running around, and doggy dates and kayaking and chasing ravens, I forget to stop and just breathe and enjoy the sun. Lucky the Two Legged Ones remind me every once in a while that, sometimes, it's enough to just be.

Hmmm, well, I know I've finished telling you all about my holidays 'down south' but I had to share this - last time we stayed near my favourite beach, I only had to share it one day - every other day, I had miles (literally) of empty beach to myself - yes, well, as you can tell from my expression, I was not best pleased on this particular day to find I had to share it with two legged ones - four legged ones, well, that's a bonus but two legged ones without accompanying four legged ones - I have to ask, what is that about???
But, as you would have read in my earlier posts, I had a great time anyway, once I got over my Westie hissy fit!

Well, this is me, after the holiday - the Two Legged Ones call it my 'hangover' - the result of overindulging in holiday activities - running, swimming, paddling, staring at cows, barking at turkeys (silly creatures), charming people, sticking my head out the car window to sniff the country smells (much better than city smells). I slept for most of the week following our holiday - well, of course, I still went for my walks but in between, I slept like a young puppy. The Two Legged Ones thought I was broken but I bounced back!

Another one of my adventures while on holidays - I saw this dog heading towards me and he looked like he would be good for a chat (he was) so I paddled and swam (yes, my paws actually got off the sand and I really, really swam!) very quickly back to shore. He was great fun - we had a bit of a run around and chat about the beach, the good smells etc and then I took off back into the water. So did he - and, much as I hate to say it, he was a bit better at swimming than me!!!
